The Chameleons (7-2-1) recorded 10 outs in the first two frames and never looked back as they went on to defeat the Sharks (5-3-1) 17-11 tonight at Tempe South.
A couple of the highlights included…
Back to back triples by Ellie and Victor to lead off the the bottom half of the first. Zen hitting a home run to lead off the bottom of the 6th inning.
Gia (2b) made a spectacular grab on a groundball to her right and fired to first for the out.
Harper (2b) made a heads up play to catch a fly ball and double up the runner off first base.
Ben, had two excellent hits including a double to right field that if the right fielder didn’t make a stop on, he likely would have had a triple or even a home run. While playing first base, Ben also made a nice catch from Samuel at pitcher to record an out. With his stellar play and contagious positive attitude, Ben was named the Chameleons player of the game this evening.
With the win, the Chameleons lock up second place in the regular season with the Dingers securing the top spot. The Chameleoms will meet for practice this Wednesday at 530pm on TSC4 Batting Cage for their final tuneup before the regular season finale on Saturday against the Sharks.
