The Chameleons started the 2022 season with a bang on opening night, downing the Sand Sharks 16 to 6 in the 6 inning contest. As the visiting team, the Chameleons wowed the crowd with their offense in the top half of the first inning. Leading off, Ellie smacked a home run to right field and the Chameleon offense never looked back from there.
At the plate this evening, Jace and Samuel joined in with round trippers of their own and Jace added a pair of triples on his way to earning Player of the Game honors in the opening contest. Ted showed off his intensity leading off the top of the 3rd inning as he hit the cover off the ball. If it wasn't for a marvelous stop by the shortstop, that ball would still be traveling. Gia showed off her bat making solid contact and smacking the ball around the diamond all night. Harper had several well struck hits and showed off her wheels on the base path, frustrating the Sand Shark defense attempting to tag her out. Victor had several well struck line drives and Hudson smacked a ball to right in the 6th inning.

On the diamond, the Chameleons played excellent team defense tallying a remarkable 16 outs. In the bottom of the 1st, Victor (SS) and Kainan (1b) turned a double play with Victor catching a fly ball and quickly firing the ball to Kainan, doubling off the runner on 1st base. In the second inning Gia (P) and Ellie (1b) combined to make 4 outs. In the third inning, Ellie (P) and Ben (2b) turned a double play. In the fourth inning, Olivia (2b) made a beautiful force out and Victor (P) made a couple outs of his own.
The Chameleons (1-0) are back in game action next Saturday 3/26 as they take on the Snakes. Game time 10am on field TSC6.
Next practice is Monday 530pm at TSC4.
